Nate Lambert was the former co-pilot of Jake Pentecost before the two became estranged. By 2035, he was working as an instructor at the China Shatterdome, training Jaeger cadets. When Jake returns to the PPDC, Nate explains that the Jaeger program is threatened by Shao Industries' new drone program. After Mako Mori is killed by the rogue Jaeger Obsidian Fury, Nate and Jake pilot Gipsy Avenger to investigate a defunct Jaeger production facility in Severnaya Zemlya, Siberia. There, they battle Obsidian Fury and discover it is controlled by a Kaiju's secondary brain. Later, Nate is injured during the fight against the Mega-Kaiju in Tokyo, and is replaced by Amara Namani as Jake's co-pilot. After the Mega-Kaiju is destroyed, Nate captures the possessed Dr. Newton Geiszler.
